This penguin from New Zealand is an endangered species These penguins are only found in New Zealand. Their forest/bush habitat has declined in quality and the species has experienced extreme fluctuations in their numbers. This is attributed to commercial net fishing and food shortages due to changing sea temperatures affecting the survival of the species.
