Hamsters are small and cute pets that require a certain amount of care and attention to thrive.

Here is some important information about caring for hamsters:

Hamster cage: Hamsters should be kept in a spacious and secure cage. A glass or plastic cage with a solid base is ideal to prevent escape and injury. The cage should be well ventilated and have plenty of room to explore and play. Feel free to add pipes, tubes, or other toys that provide stimulation and opportunities for exploration.

Bedding: Use a suitable litter in the bottom of the cage, such as wood pellets, hemp litter or paper strips. Bedding should be changed regularly to maintain a clean and healthy habitat.

Feed: Hamsters need a varied diet that includes high-quality hamster food as the main food. In addition, they can be given fresh vegetables, fruit, grains and small amounts of protein from e.g. dried insects. Avoid giving them too much fatty or sugary food.

Water: Hamsters should always have access to clean and fresh water. Use a heavy bowl or bottle mounted on the cage to provide water.

Activity: Hamsters are nocturnal and love to explore and play at night. Provide them with plenty of toys, scooters and activities to keep them entertained and stimulated.

Company: Hamsters can be solitary animals and can be aggressive towards other hamsters, especially of the same sex. If you choose to have more than one hamster, they must be kept in separate cages.

Health: Keep an eye on your hamster's behavior and health. Check their fur, eyes, ears and teeth regularly and seek veterinary advice if you notice any signs of illness or discomfort.
